Living your passion

I wanted to be an actor during my school days (I grew up watching the Khans romance the beautiful girls!)

There were a few hindrances to achieving my dream:

-I was based at Ambala (and not Mumbai)

-I had Bansal as my surname (and not Khan/ Kapoor)

-I didn’t know how to dance (and neither had any passion to learn the same)

I gave up pretty soon 🙂

Fast forward many many years to 2023.

Natu Natu went viral even before the movie got released. Forget being an actor, I wanted to learn how to dance!

I finally got an opportunity to enroll for a demo class recently.

The class started.

It was difficult for me to juggle through the simplest of steps.

I simply kept going with whatever I could.

It was supposed to be a 50 min class and I was done after 15 mins. I sat on the floor to take some rest as the others continued.

विकास, इस उम्र में क्या पंगा ले लिया ? – I asked myself

The trainer saw my discomfort and looked straight into my eyes and gave a big smile.

I could feel the energy in his eyes.

He was sweating profusely.

He was enjoying the moves

He was in the zone

I stood up.

I knew I had to do it.

I danced as if no one was watching.

I lasted the balance 30 mins without any further break.

I was nearly out of breath by the time it was over. I walked upto the dancer and thanked him.

I may not attend again soon but he taught something to the trainer in me.

Energy, like smile, is contagious.

My next performance (in any corporate training program or leadership training in Delhi) is going to be more energetic.

The onus of people’s attention and participation rests on me.

Period.
