RJ or Master of One?

RJ or Master of One?

RJ or Master of One?

Should you strive to be a jack of all trades or master of one?

If you were to seek guidance from your mentors/ well wishers, you will be asked to focus and master one thing in life.

The world has always taught us to be really good at one thing in our life.

Remember the tag line – “Be so good that people can’t ignore you” 🙂

Then we come across a person like Ravindra Jadeja (RJ) – a person who very seldom makes the headlines but unarguably may be the most valuable Indian player across all formats of the game.

RJ isn’t the best batsman in the team, but is not a pushover either.

RJ is not the best bowler in the team, but he has enough ability to ruffle a few feathers in the opposition camp.

Each time the team got selected during the 5 test series against England, there was never a question mark on RJs selection!

Is he a bowler who can bat or a batsman who can bowl?

I believe he’s genuinely good at both and that’s the reason Jaddu bhai (as his teammates call him) always found a place in the playing 11.

Let’s shift the focus from cricket to our professional lives.

What about people who’ve only mastered one skill?

I just have one question for these folks – what if that skill is no longer required in 2026 or 2027?

It is important to go deep (mastery), but it is equally important to go wide (broad base your skill set) in the new AI age.

What do you think?

RJ or single minded one way?
