Standing Tall with Purpose
Standing Tall with Purpose
How many messages do you get per day on your school/ college WhatsApp group?
One fine day I saw about 200 unread messages.
I was curious to know what had transpired.
Shikha had joined my engineering college WhatsApp group!
Well, let me share more about the lady.
She has dedicated her entire life post her engineering to the welfare of villagers in Jharkhand.
She runs an organisation Neev which makes hand made soaps and beauty products, employing 60 rural women and supporting a cowshed with 20 cows.
The organisation also runs an afternoon free tuition centre with about 40 children and 3 teachers..
The sales at Neev happen mainly through Amazon and the earnings support everything I mentioned above.
The sales volume had reduced to half over the last few months on account of some wrong decisions and lack of skill in her new office team.
She put in a request in the WhatsApp group if a few people could order 2 – 3 products and leave an appropriate seller feedback.
A few of my college colleagues asked for the organisation’s bank account, wanting to genuinely help her tide over the crisis.
She plainly refused.
She said the only help she was asking for was to try a few of Neev products and leave a seller feedback if one was satisfied with the quality of the products.
This will over time time help increase her visibility on Amazon and hopefully will push up sales once again.
A true entrepreneurial spirit – not bowing down to adversity but standing tall, head held high.
And in case you’re fond of organic handmade beauty products, try Neev.
Proud of my colleague!
