A Teacher's Lasting Impact

I simply couldn’t believe it when I saw her!

Elegantly dressed and exuding the same charm, she was the same Miss Jyoti who I had last seen many decades back.

I met her recently over a cup of tea at her house.

She was my first class teacher as I stepped into Class 5 in a new school. She was my favourite teacher and had a tremendous influence in shaping me as a person.

She was a pretty strict teacher in her younger days and no one could dare play a prank in her class.

Is it good or bad?

Well, I am not an expert in this field.

Coming back to the meeting, there were so many memories to share (incidentally she mostly remembered the more notorious ones!).

She is now working with the school as a mentor post her retirement as a professor from a college.

She’s invited the speaker Vikas Bansal to address the school students next month on stress management – she feels today’s generation is reeling under tons of stress.

I am sure this is nothing to do with the deficiency of a particular vitamin 🙂

What do you think?

Should everyone in school be treated the same way?
