Building Bonds Over Gajar Ka Halwa
Building Bonds Over Gajar Ka Halwa
My friend Ankit stays at Mohali.
We met a few times at a cafe over the last few years.
I usually visit Mohali for 2-3 days every month (have another business based out of the city).
He always invited me over to his house for overnight stay, but somehow never made it to his house.
I visited Mohali last week. As always, he again invited me over to his place.
I agreed!!
I reached his home and could immediately feel the warmth.
I met his family after many years – गर्मा गर्म गाजर का हलवा खाते हुए बातें शुरू हुईं
We sat down for dinner after a while. His mother had prepared a special dish for me.
His wife and son gathered around the centre table after dinner and I got to know more about them. They shared about their recent trekking trip beyond Manali while I had my stories about Prayagraj.
Both of us chatted well past midnight – this long conversation would not have been possible during daytime!
The next morning I was treated to another homemade mithai along with a rich Punjabi breakfast.
As a token of love, Aunty even packed a small quantity of mithai for my family!
Ankit had always been a good friend but this one night made me feel a part of his family.
I was glad to have visited his place.
How about spending some quality time with a friend’s family this weekend?
It takes time and effort to build stronger relationships.
It’s worth it 🙂
